James McAvoy, 30, was born in Glasgow and studied at the Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. In 2004 he was cast in the Bafta-winning Channel 4 series Shameless, and has sinced starred in several successful films, including The Chronicles Of Narnia, The Last King Of Scotland and Atonement. He is currently on stage in Three Days Of Rain at the Apollo Theatre, London. He is married to the actor Anne-Marie Duff.
