The Cumming fragrance line. the soap, Cumming in a bar (still available at alancumming.com) is my favorite ever pun on my name.
Apart from my business I engage in civic issues. I do a lot of work with the Government of Karnataka, both for the biotech sector as well as for the city of Bangalore.
Painting is complete as a distraction. I know of nothing which, without exhausting the body, more entirely absorbs the mind. Whatever the worries of the hour or the threats of the future, once the picture has begun to flow along, there is no room for them in the mental screen. They pass out into shadow and darkness. All one's mental light, such as it is, becomes concentrated on the task. Time stands respectfully aside, and it is only after many hesitations that luncheon knocks gruffly at the door.
I was always a watcher.
I don't have one. I know too many.
I don't judge others.
I don't have a treasured possession.
I look forward to answering that question in 15 years.
That my four children love each other. That is probably not my achievement, but it's what I witness.
More sleep. I am sleep-deprived at the moment. I've just done four films back to back and I am about to start another one, so it is very tough – and wonderful.
