About

Jennifer Egan, 49, was born in Chicago. She decided she wanted to be a writer while backpacking around Europe in the early 1980s. She has published five novels, and has written short stories for the New Yorker, Granta, McSweeney's and the Guardian, as well as journalism for the New York Times. Her latest novel, A Visit From The Goon Squad, won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for fiction. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their two sons.
