I’m a classic remoaner.
That I still don’t understand life. When I was young, I thought at some point I would find somebody who does. I am 45, and there is a good chance that I’ll never meet somebody like that.
When I was in my 30s and taped myself singing. I always thought I had quite a sweet voice – my voice is terrible, I can’t hold a note.
I thought that I would become more mature about certain things, and it didn’t happen.
I don't have a lot of regrets in my life.
I like looking feminine and I enjoy being a role model. I enjoy being a woman. It all comes down to having the confidence to be who you are.
I like being in the workforce; it keeps me grounded.
I looked straight across at the clock and I was disappointed with the time. I should have run under 49 and I didn't. And I knew I had a lot more in me.
But I was not really planning to create what seems to be a lasting impact. I was just always about personal expression and pride in who I was as an Australian Indigenous girl. It was more about me sharing all of me with the world. But, certainly after all these years, it makes me really proud.
I like being in the workforce; it keeps me grounded.
